Man viciously attacked by six dogs at a residence in Poortview, West of Johannesburg

A man, believed to be in his late 30s, was left critically injured this afternoon when he was attacked by six dogs at a residence in Poortview, west of Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at approximately 12h00 to find several security members on the scene.

On closer inspection paramedics found that a man, believed to be in his late 30s, was lying inside the garden area. Unfortunately, paramedics were unable to gain access to the patient.

Local authorities and the SPCA were called to the scene for further assistance. Once the dogs had been moved, authorities were able to retrieve the patient and bring him to the awaiting paramedics.

Assessments showed that the man had sustained numerous bite wounds and showed no signs of life.

Paramedics immediately initiated CPR and advanced life support interventions, in an effort to revive the patient. Fortunately, after a few short minutes, the patient’s vital signs returned.

Ctrack to shine light on SMB product at 2018 Festival of Motoring

Telematics and vehicle tracking specialists, Ctrack, will exhibit their wares at the 2018 Festival of Motoring (FOM), which takes place from 31 August to 2 September, at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Johannesburg.

Ctrack’s FOM stand will also be home to a futuristic Sasol Solar Challenge (SSC) vehicle during South Africa’s largest three-day, OEM-supported motoring event.

The solar-powered car on the Ctrack stand is similar to the cars that will compete in the 2018 SSC, a biennial competition in which teams from across the world design and build solar-powered vehicles and then drive them across South Africa.

4 Traffickers nabbed at OR Tambo International Airport

Pretoria: Over the past few days, four alleged drug and abalone traffickers aged between 21 and 45 years, were arrested at the OR Tambo International Airport.

The multi-disciplinary team that has been operating at the OR Tambo International Airport to prevent and combat crime at this port of entry continues to arrest suspects on various crimes. The Team recovered drugs worth millions as well as abalone with an estimated value of R1.8 million.

The first suspects was intercepted at the check-in counters. The suspect was stopped before she could check-in her luggage which was found to contain boxes of Kellogg’s corn flakes cereal. Sachets containing white powder suspected to be crystal meth were found concealed in the boxes.

Two arrested for possession of suspected stolen goods after vehicle search in Hartswater

Today at about 06:00 the vigilant Hartswater SAPS Crime Prevention members stopped and searched a suspicious looking vehicle and found suspected stolen goods with an estimated value of R130 000. The two men were found on a road exiting Hartswater, close to the N18 with 12 flat screened television sets and two DVD players. The suspects and the goods could possibly be linked to a burglary at a well-known furniture store that took place at the weekend in the Hartswater CBD. Police also confiscated the white Honda Ballade the suspects were travelling as it was alleged utilized in the commission of crime.

The male suspects are 38 and 39 years old respectively and should be appearing in the Hartswater Magistrates’ Court soon. The investigation continues….

Pedestrian Injured In Bicycle Accident In Dawncrest ,KZN

A 38 year old Zimbabwean National was knocked down by a cyclist this morning (Tuesday) on the Inanda Road near Dawncrest in Verulam.

Reaction Unit South Africa was called out to the scene at approx 07:45 this morning. Upon arrival Paramedics treated the injured man & transported him to Osindisweni Hospital for head & facial injuries.

According to the cyclist he was on route to the Verulam CBD to board a taxi to his place of employment in Morningside – Durban when the pedestrian crossed the road onto his part of travel.

The cyclist was not injured….

A Woman was injured in a crash with a bus on the N3 just before the Umlaas road offramp

KwaZulu-Natal: At 14H48 Thursday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the N3 Durban bound just before the Umlaas road offramp. Reports from the scene indicate that a 20-year-old female sustained mild injuries following a collision between her light motor vehicle and a passenger heavy motor vehicle. The patient was treated on scene and transported by Netcare 911 ambulance to a hospital for further treatment. All necessary authorities were on the scene to investigate….

Multiple injuries when 2 minibus taxi’s collided on Houghton Drive, Johannesburg

At around 07H48 on Monday morning 23 July 2018, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a serious collision near to the intersection of Joe Slovo and Houghton Drive in the Berea area, Johannesburg.

Paramedics from Netcare 911 and various other services arrived to find that two minibus taxi’s had collided and one of them had overturned.

Multiple commuters, from both vehicles, sustained injuries ranging from relatively minor to serious. Once stabilised, they were transported by various ambulance services to a hospital for further assessment and care.

The JMPD were on the scene to investigate the incident.

The local Fire Department also attended the incident….

14 injured on Bidston Road in Mayville when a taxi collided with a tree

Fourteen people have been injured after a taxi lost control and collided with a tree on Bidston Road in Mayville this morning just after 08:30 am.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the single-vehicle against the tree. Multiple casualties were found and immediately more ambulances were dispatched to assist.

On all of the injured who had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate had been stabilised, they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

At this stage, the events leading up to the crash are unknown however the necessary authorities were on the scene and will be investigating further….

10 injured in a crash on Golf Road in Epworth Pietermaritzburg

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find the taxi on the side of the road lying on its side. The light motor vehicle was parked a short distance away.

The occupants had already climbed out of the taxi and were found seated on the sidewalk.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that four had sustained minor injuries while six others had sustained minor injuries.

The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to nearby provincial hospitals for further care.

The local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.

At 07H00 Wednesday morning, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on Golf Road in Epworth Pietermaritzburg. Reports from the scene indicate that a mini-bus taxi and a light motor vehicle were involved in a collision.

A total of ten people were injured in the collision and were treated on scene and transported by various ambulance services to the hospital for further treatment….
